Mini Nantucket Basket with Ivory Mounts
InformationMiniature Nantucket basket, signed on the base: "N P '03". This is one of a few miniature oak and ivory baskets made by Nat Plank on Nantucket. The basket has an ivory base, top, rims, pair of handles, hasp, fid clasp, and applied ivory compass rose. The handles hinge to the side. The hasp and fid operate allowing the basket top to hinge back. Both the miniature nature and tightness of the weave is amazing. This basket is an outstanding example of modern Nantucket basket making. (B-60) Condition: Outstanding. Dimensions: Height with handles up 3 inches; Height with out handles 2 inches; Length 2 3/4 inches; Width 2 inches.
