Kelvin & White Boston Compass in a Brass Binnacle by W.F. Tribble, New York
InformationBrass Yacht Binnacle signed on the top W.F. TRIBBLE New York with a Compass Signed “Kelvin &Wilfrid O. White Boston and New York”. Circa 1920. The compass Housing is polished brass and has a bulbus appearance. Each side of the top has a brass mounted cylinder-shaped form that hold removable oil lamps with flip up brass bail handles. The top section can be removed from the base section which supports the gimbeled compass mount by twisting a bayonet locking system. The liquid compass is signed on the inside perimeter of the compass card. The compass has a brass outside perimeter mount which is engraved “81089 Boston E.S. Ritchie”. (I 1016)
Condition: The compass and binnacle are in excellent condition, and the case and compass brass ring have been recently polished and lacquered.
