Ebony Framed Octant with Engraved Radius arm with two peep sites. The Instrument retains its original step down painted Box with the label of Aaron Breed of Boston. "EJ Marsh Balitimo." is hand painted in a circle with a painted five pointed star at its center. There is a hand painted American Flag at the top section of the box., The box retains its original fancy key escutcheon mounted on the side of the box.circa 1790. (I 1001)
Condition of Quadrant: The Quadrant is complete and is in good condition. The box top is made from three pieces which have had age separation.
