5 3/4 Inch Round Nantucket Basket with Finely Turned Base, American circa 1880
InformationLate 19th century small round Nantucket Light Ship Basket. The basket has a finely shaped delicate oak handle with small brass ears. The basket rim is oak and a criss-cross weave around the circumference. The basket has tapered oak ribs and a round mahogany base. the has is beautifully turned on the inside with raised circular bands and a fine circular scribe line around the outside of the turnings. There is an old number written in ink on the bottom of the base with the number 60G. (FA1249)
Condition. The basket is in excellent condition and has a mellow age patina.
