InformationExceptional and rare cast iron doorstop featuring a reclining whippet dog with head up and front legs extended with paw details on the feet. The dog is presented with amazing anatomical accuracy. The head is thin and long with pronounced aye brows and set in glass eyes. The ears are mounted to the back of the head and are in an upright position. Below the neck is the chest and ribcage with exposed ribs along the bottom. The dog’s waist is very narrow, and he is sitting on his haunches. The dog’s long tail spins around with an open loop and continues up the dog’s back and ends on top his left haunch. The dog’s rear legs and feet are shown in a seated position, and the rear paws have articulated claws. The Doorstop retains a light and dark mottled surface. The color and tones are lighter under the dog’s ribs and belly. (FA1198)
