Exceptional pierced scrimshaw whale ivory ivory crimper America mid -19th century. The crimper is constructed unlike most out of a single block of whale ivory and hallowed out in the handle and at the end for the wheel clearance. Both of the opposite sides of the hallowed out section of the crimper have a matched elaborate pierced carved design. the top of the handle has a beautifly carved and pierced hart. The crimper has a carved whale ivory wheel. (SC-1238)
