Custom Knife Made by Warren Osbourne and Engraved by Sam Alfano, American First Quarter 20th Century. The knife has a beautifully pattered damascus polished steel double edged tapered blade and is signed "Osbourne Knives" on the upper portion of the blade. The opposite side has the number "001". At the center of the handle of both sides of the handle is an oval inlay made of white mother of pearl within a larger black lip pearl insert. Both sides front and back beautifully engraved designs with beautiful flame shaped gold inlays. The engraved pattern wraps the entire knife on both sides. (KN010)

About the Maker: Warren Osbourne was well known for his high-end custom folding knives, many of which had elaborately engraved interframes by some of the top embellishers in the industry. In 1985, he became a probationary member of the Knifemakers’ Guild. In later years, he became a voting member and served on the Guild’s board of directors. He is probably best known for his knife designs as a result of his many collaborations with Benchmade Knife Co.
About the Engraver: "Sam Alfano began engraving in the early 1970's. In 1984, Sam traveled to Brescia, Italy to learn techniques of banknote or "bulino" engraving from the great Firmo Fracassi. He continued to work for New Orleans Arms Co. until 1989 when Diefenthal passed away. Once on his own, Sam focused his attention on handmade knives and high-end jewelry engraving. Sam has continued to work on custom knives and jewelry, catering to advanced collectors in many countries, and has produced some of the finest engraved pieces made. He is best known for his intricate designs, precise detail, and flawless execution of this demanding art form, and his work has been featured in books and magazines around the world."
