Clark Voorhees
(American 1911-1980)
Large size carved and painted sperm whale, stamped with the carver's logo on the reverse, American, circa 1955. The whale was carved in Voorhees typical style and also has his typical patterned painted surface. The sperm whale's mouth is open and retains the original dark red paint. The lower jaw has carved teeth. The back of the whale has the original metal hanging loop. An old label on the back identifies the carving as being made by Clark Voorhees and givrs a circa date of 1963. (FA-1089)
Condition: The top fluke has been repaired.
