Cane with a fabulously carved eagle clutching a serpent perched on a pile of rocks. The detail in the eagle’s beak, head and wings and tail feathers is extraordinary. The coiled open work serpent is equally well carved with an open mouth and spit tongue. The serpent’s scales are well defined. Below the carving is a silver ring with hallmarks followed by a Malacca tapered shaft with original metal and ferrel. (WS0259)
Condition: There is some surface scraping and loss to the finish around the power part of the shaft. There is a typical age crack from the base of the carving up into the wing.
